Carfield Friends
Carfield Friends PTA is the Parent and Teacher Association for Carfield Primary School and a registered charity (charity number 1183465). We raise money and organise events throughout the school year e.g. school discos; bake sales; Christmas events; and the Carfield Music Festival.
Everyone is welcome in Carfield Friends and there are many ways to help out without signing your life away! Firstly, take a look at the Carfield Friends PTA Facebook, X and Intagram pages to keep up to date with what is going on. Also sign up to PTA Events (an event planning platform that we use) to buy tickets for events and sign up to volunteer slots. See links below.
We rely on volunteers to help us bring the event together on the day. It is a great way of getting to know the school and other parents and is often lots of fun too. We try and split volunteer slots into manageable chunks so that people can volunteer for a bit and then enjoy the event as well. If child care is an issue, please let us know and we will do what we can to help.
At no extra effort or money, you can also help raise funds for school by signing up to ‘Easy Fundraising’ https://www.easyfundraising.
The core committee is a group of 8 (7 parents and 1 member of staff) who meet once a half term to decide on events, projects and how funds can be best spent. Meetings are relaxed and productive but also fun. We liaise closely with members of staff at school to ensure that our work fits with the children and schools needs. Anyone is welcome to attend one of the committee meetings, we would love to grow our team so if you are interested please email carfieldfriends@outlook.com or come and speak to one of us in the playground.
