Stephen Foster   Parent Governor

I have been a secondary school English teacher in Sheffield for 20 years.  My current post is at Longley Sixth Form College with provision for 16-19 year olds of very diverse backgrounds.
I’ve led departments, represented fellow members of staff from a union standpoint, and worked closely with management of all levels on school and department improvement plans. In previous posts I have liaised with primary schools in various academy trusts to bridge the gap between our understanding of education from KS2 to KS3.
This is my first experience of not just working with governors to improve the school, but being one.

Much of my work has focussed around the most vulnerable in communities across South Yorkshire and supporting them to access education opportunities that raises expectations and provides a platform for aspirational success.
