We are writing stories in Reception this half term based on traditional tales and superheroes.
The Billy Goats Gruff have inspired stories and model making.
We are learning about Heroes and Villains this term. To help us explore different types of heroes and villains each class are spending two weeks learning the following traditional stories:
- The Little Red Hen
- Billy Goats Gruff
- Little Red Riding Hood.
The children in Bumble Bee class have enjoyed building and designing different bridges for the goats to cross using blocks, Lego and play dough. They also used their creative skills to make different types of trolls. The children in Ladybird Class have enjoyed telling the story of the Little Red Hen using sign language. The children in Butterfly Class have been writing stories and making lots of intricate pictures about the stories.
All children have learnt to share equally through practical activities, such as sharing people between houses or sheep in fields. They have all been practising their literacy skills by writing parts of the stories.
