The Year 5 children have continued to produce graffiti artwork and brought in some excellent learning logs. They have also been writing persuasive brochures for Castleton. In science, the children have investigated life cycles including those of plants.
Year 5 have had a fantastic fortnight. During this time, we have had a brilliant residential to Castleton, which the children loved. They learnt new skills such as archery, what it was like to be a miner and about the history of Castleton. We were very proud with how well they represented our school and engaged with the range of activities. Furthermore, the children have recently had cricket sessions in PE with a specialist. Their catching has improved and most of them can bowl. They have really enjoyed these sessions and it has been great to see their skills develop. Back in the classroom, the children have written persuasive letters to our local Councillor encouraging her to tackle the vandalistic graffiti around Meersbrook.
