Pupils with additional needs

If your child has additional needs or Special Educational Needs, you may find some of the year group suggested activities are not suitable. Feel free to use activities from other year groups if they are more appropriate.

Here are some useful links to resources specifically for pupils with additional needs:

Sheffield City Council have produced this Parent Guide for parents/carers of pupils with Special Educational Needs. The government have also published this list of apps and games for pupils with SEN.

Click here to view the latest newsletter from the Sheffield Education Autism Team with links to useful websites with visual aids/social stories to explain the coronavirus, articles to support mental wellbeing, top tips for supporting pupils with Autism at home and information about the ‘Attention Autism’ intervention.

Pupils with Autism may find it useful to follow a routine. Visual timetables help prepare for transition from one activity to the next and avoid any unexpected surprises. These images can be printed and used on the ‘now/next’ board or the website https://widgitonline.com/ are offering a 21-day free trial if you would prefer to create your own.
